Petra is a Freelance Theatre Director – working as Artistic Director of Magic Penny Productions, Production Director for Music is Life Productions Ltd.(a company specialising in bringing new musical theatre to the stage,) Director of the Midsomer Norton Theatre Company and Youth Company Director for The Merrimen Theatre Group.

Magic Penny Productions is a company providing workshops and bespoke productions accessing the history curriculum through Drama. The first project was a community centenary celebration for Peasedown St John Primary School involving past and present pupils alike. Through workshops pupils were able to explore life a 100 years ago and through extensive research Petra wrote a play culminating in 3 performances at The Prospect Theatre, Writhlington. Magic Penny is available to visit schools across all key stages to facilitate bespoke workshops to access history and dates in the past of relevant to individual communities. Magic Penny also provides workshops to support English and Drama texts across the upper key stages.

In November 2013 Petra produced Rent! for Bods at The Mission Theatre Bath and in September produced and directed Pencoweth, a brand new musical, for Music is Life Productions -following on from the double award winning The Decent Rogues in 2012. A tour is in the planning stages.

In August 2013 Petra was commissioned to form a community theatre company in a local town, Midsomer Norton and is currently writing and adaptation of Midsummer Night’s Dream as part of the RSC Open Stages Project to bring a large scale community theatre project to life in June 2014.

Petra is a fully trained teacher, having lectured for Bath Dance College, Bath College and also spent time specialising in  developing Creative Curriculum access for people with profound and  multiple learning difficulties and sensory impairment.

Highly experienced in professional theatre both as a  performer and also in production Petra regularly reviews Theatre for the online publications Theatre Bath, Guide2Bath, Remote Goat and whatsonstage.com. Petra is also a regional representative for NODA in the south west (Region 10)

Petra currently offers private Drama tuition to students  preparing for auditions for Drama School/University entrance and also LAMDA  examinations and group work for adults seeking to improve their acting/directing  skills through exploring texts in workshop settings.
